Known issues
  • Bluetooth dropouts with iOS App connected iOS App

The latest release bring more stability to the Bluetooth App connection, and we find that this has relieved a bit of the Bluetooth dropouts/speedups that many of you have experienced while running the app and BT audio at the same time. We still occasionally hear the bug when stress test it, so we're still investigating ways to get completely rid of this issue. Meanwhile, we find that running BT audio and App on two separate devices helps. Please share your experience via the feedback link above ^

  • UI lock functionality Core

We're currently testing a UI lock feature that allows you to lock the UI on speakers, so that event-guests can't tamper with them.

  • Windows soundcard Core

We are currently testing a fix to getting the USB C Soundcard to work on Windows.

Core, Thyra, Mic, and iOS App Stable Release

Fixes across Bluetooth handling, audio routing, radio stability, and firmware update reliability

πŸ’™ Most important thing to note

After installing this update, your speakers Bluetooth pairing behavior has now changed. We have done this to make it possible to pair both Bluetooth Audio and App at the same time, without messing with the connection of the other. From now on:

  • To pair/clear Bluetooth audio β†’ single press (like you're used to) β†’ the BT button pulses slowly to indicate its searching for audio connection
  • To pair the app  β†’ double press quickly β†’ the BT button flashes quickly twice like a beakon, to indicate it's looking for an app conenction
  • You now rarely have to manually click the BT button to pair the app, as the Host will attempt to connect to the app every time it boots for 1 minute.
This update should also bring a lot more stability to the "new" Thyra CH0. We've ironed out a lot of bugs and found some ways to optimise things. We have done one minor test where we could not tell the difference in range between CH0 and CH1. We're looking forward to get your feedback on this in the coming weeks.

Other impotant fixes:
  • Fixed an issue that routed one SOWA mic to left, and the second to right audio channel.
  • Added gain to the app (0-30 dB) to make it better in line with the rest of the inputs. We recommend setting this at β‰ˆ20+.
⬇️ Unfold below to view all the fixes and features added!

Core 1.2.2
  • New Added double-click trigger for entering BLE (App) pairing mode thereby properly separating BLE and Bluetooth Classic (Audio) disconnect handling.
  • Fixed Fixed a bug where having more than 10 Thyra CH0 connections caused a host crash. Connections should now remain stable regardless of how many channels are active.
  • Fixed Fixed a bug where the microphone signal was not routed correctly in mono, and updated the XLR output tap location to improve signal path accuracy.
  • Fixed Fixed audio sample-rate changes and dropouts over Bluetooth A2DP by switching the audio codec to use the DSP source clock. Audio streamed via Bluetooth should now play back more consistently without interruptions.
  • Fixed Fixed a bug where an accidental host-side disconnect would not trigger BLE re-advertising, leaving the device unreachable until restarted. BLE now automatically resumes advertising so you can reconnect without rebooting.
  • New BLE pairing mode now starts automatically on startup and times out after one minute, with a new LED animation shown while the device is advertising for pairing.
  • Fixed Fixed audio drift and delay issues at startup by correcting how the latency offset is applied and when speaker mode attributes are updated during initialisation.
  • Fixed Fixed audio pops heard on USB output when the device boots.
  • New Added USB Power Delivery role-switch support, allowing the device to better negotiate power direction with connected USB-C hosts.
iOS App 1.7.4
  • Fixed Fixed several bugs where Bluetooth connection state was tracked by multiple competing controllers, causing the app to show a "connected" mixer against a powered-off speaker, display ghost connecting icons, or silently crash.
  • Fixed Fixed a bug where faders snapped back to their previous position during transport congestion (for example, when a Mac was adjusting USB volume over USB-C). The app no longer re-fetches state that the speaker firmware already pushes, so faders should respond consistently.
  • Fixed Fixed a bug where soft-powering off the speaker or disabling its Bluetooth left the app showing a fully functional mixer against a speaker that had stopped responding. The app now detects the unresponsive link and reflects the true disconnected state.
  • Fixed Fixed a bug where opening the mixer too early after connecting - before the speaker had reported its list of devices - built a broken mixer with no fader strips or volume control for the rest of that app session.
  • Fixed Fixed multiple firmware update reliability issues: the post-upload reboot and reconnect are now tracked accurately, every file's upload is verified, and reconnection after a reboot should now work properly.
  • Fixed Fixed a bug where a wedged Bluetooth link on the speaker caused every firmware update attempt to fail with a generic error. The app now shows a specific message asking you to power-cycle the speaker.
  • Auto-connect is now off by default. Previously, the app connected to the last-used speaker automatically as soon as it was in range - often before the speaker was ready - showing a spurious connection error. You can re-enable it under Experimental Features β†’ "Auto-Connect".
  • Fixed Fixed a bug where tapping "Update Firmware" from the Mixer tab's settings sheet reset any downgrade selection you had made and never actually started the update. The first update attempt after launching the app should now proceed correctly.
  • Fixed Fixed multiple firmware update reliability issues. In multi-file updates, only the last file's upload was verified - a silently failed earlier file could leave the speaker on the old version. The reconnect loop now also catches the speaker when it advertises only briefly after rebooting, and verification correctly reads post-update versions instead of stale ones.
  • Fixed Fixed a bug where a pending firmware update for one component was no longer offered after updating another, until both the app and speaker were restarted. Unsynced device versions right after a reconnect are now handled correctly.
  • Fixed Fixed a bug where a Bluetooth connection attempt issued immediately after the speaker's link had just dropped could stall indefinitely with no error or timeout. The app now retries the connection attempt and properly unwinds the loading state on failure.
  • Improved After a firmware update completes, the app now lands on the device list instead of the mixer.
  • New Added support for running the App on newer MacOS. This is not tested much, but should work, so please share your feedback
Thyra 1.1.1
  • Fixed Fixed a bug that could cause issues when returning from legacy mode (CH1-4) to CH0.
  • Fixed Fixed a bug where powering on the host device on CH0 caused a loud crackle in connected joiners.
  • Improved Improved radio signal shaping in CH0 to reduce interference and improve wireless link quality.
  • Improved Improved radio channel initialisation on CH0
Mic 1.0.4
  • New No changes to microphone firmware since release. All changes that affect the microphone are implemented in the Core/speaker
